Part of the Gibson McDonald canoe route which we did this year, portages were rugged. I took this picture from the mid point of a bridge . My daughter and our red canoe down below....
Up at our cottage I like to get a good work out kayaking about the lake. A good destination is our very own Picnic Island which is a nice stopover. I happened to be there when all sorts of daisies were blooming,very pretty!...

I went trail clearing with a group called "Five Winds Backcountry Ski club" to help them clear trails for their winter skiing. We did this for two days, carrying pruners and saws, removing downed logs, putting up more trail markers and clearing excessive brush....
My daughter at the bow of our somewhat trusty canoe, leaked a little, but it got us there and back....
