Volunteers Wanted!

The Paddle In the Park Contest is looking for volunteers!

Are you an outdoor enthusiast who wants to help others get “out there” in Nature? The Paddle in the Park Contest (PITPC) is looking for volunteers to help continue and expand this great advocacy program disguised as a fun contest.

We are looking for a diverse set of skills to manage the contest. If you have any of the following and are interested in volunteering those skills to help get more people camping and canoeing in our beautiful province, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact us at info@paddleintheparkcontest.ca

  • Writing/Communications skills
  • Social media experience (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, others?)
  • WordPress content creation/publishing/administration
  • Photo editing / graphic design
  • Photography / Videography
  • Video editing (including having your own software)
  • Project management / admin
  • Customer / Sponsor relations
  • Website development (PHP, WordPress, mySQL, javascript etc.)

Other tasks / responsibilities might include regular attending Zoom/Skype meetings, transportation of prizes, marketing products and paddles around Southern Ontario, checking up on hidden paddles, participation in photo/video shoots, contributing new ideas and attending outdoor events. The best candidates would be able to work with us from January through November.

We are looking for people who are positive and enthusiastic about the outdoors, and would communicate and represent the contest in that fashion. We truly believe that one of the reasons we have been so successful so far is that we genuine and well intended, and obviously want that to continue.

Also note, and we really don’t want to be a bummer here, but you will probably not be hiding a paddle.

While we can’t offer any compensation, we can offer experience, honing skills working with a great team, exposure for your outdoor-related brand/product/service, the satisfaction of helping a great cause – but most of all, lots and lots of fun!
