This is my son's (in orange) first canoe trip. He doesn't like the canoe because it feels too tippy, so we made it as easy as possible with a short jaunt in Massasauga....

Thankfully the portages were shorter than the map indicated due to high water this year!...

This was our favourite site this season - big enough for lots of playing and running around on, easy entry, and a nice breeze to keep the bugs off....

Since my daughter can't carry much yet, I'm still the main portageur. I've learned to pack light, and that you can put a trash bag inside of her school backpack, so she can carry her stuff....

We discovered this cool log chute on our way home from a trip in the Haliburton Highlands....
