Run Wild Media Paddle – FOUND & CLAIMED!

Run Wild Media Paddle – FOUND & CLAIMED!

It’s official, everyone! The Run Wild Media Paddle has been found and claimed by Chris McGyver! Chris has been a long time participant of the Paddle in the Park Contest – is a past #PADDLEPOINTS winner but this makes for his first official paddle claim! And so without further ado, we present to you in his own words, Chris’s paddle-finder story…

First and foremost I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and everyone else involved for running such a wonderful contest, without your dedication to getting people “out there” the summers would not be nearly as fun and exciting .

I have been involved in searching for paddles for the last 2 years that they have been hidden, and have made many, many day trips and a quite a few longer paddles to various locations where I thought a paddle might be hidden, spending so much time outdoors has been very good for both my body and soul.

When I saw the “porcine” clue for the Run Wild Media paddle I thought “there is only one portage that I have ever heard of that is referred to as “the pig” so away I went to Killarney, after driving the 550 km’s  I threw on my 5kg day pack, left the George Lake parking lot at Noon and hiked up the La Cloche Silhouette Trail to The Pig.

Three hours of unsuccessful searching later I was at the North end of the portage and to my great surprise saw a long ago abandoned pick up truck, that’s when the second part of the clue kicked in “ only the best paddle-seekers will be driven to investigate” and sure enough laying under the drivers side of the truck was the long lost paddle…..SUCCESS !!!!!

Thanks again for all of your efforts.

Chris McGyver

Thanks to Chris for being part of another Paddle in the Park Contest and for all of his devoted enthusiasm for our campaign. Those DIY #PaddlePoints t-shirts he makes up every year are on point!  😉

Don’t worry though, there are still more paddles to be found and claimed this fall – plus don’t forget to check out our #PaddlePoints Challenge too –  and as always, just keep getting “Out There”!
